Delayed post from Sunday

Waiting for a lock to clear
We set off in sunshine but with a chilly wind. We negotiated the two top Audlem Locks and then continued to the five at Adderley. There were lots of boats out and about- mostly coming in the opposite direction with friendly, chatty crews.

 A cute pig!

...and a cute pig about to make off with an apple we gave him
At the fourth Alderley lock we came accross this lovely pig who obviously roamed the lock side. He was not afraid of the Golden retriever with a crew coming down and gleefully made off with the apple Graham offered.
The first of several cuttings we went through
This canal is lovely and enhanced by the weather. It alternates between cuttings of incredible depth to embankments high above the surrounding countryside.

 Sunday night's mooring
At about 6pm we deceided to moor in a lovely spot opposite a pretty pub in the very well maintained visitor moorings. This canal has the best moorings and facilities we have encountered and we are lucky to have another day on it with few locks tomorrow.
